ShredIndex Lines collects approximate and precise location data when you use ski and snowboard run tracking features.
How we use location data
- • track ski and snowboard runs;
- • calculate distance, speed, vertical, route, and other activity statistics;
- • auto-detect runs and lifts;
- • show your current position on the mountain map; and
- • keep recording activity while the app is in the background, when you choose to start tracking.
ShredIndex Lines may collect location data in the background while tracking is active so your runs can continue recording when your phone is locked, the app is backgrounded, or your phone is in your pocket.
We do not use location data for advertising. We do not sell location data. We do not share location data with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
You can disable location access at any time in your device settings, but run tracking and map features may not work correctly without it.
We retain personal data only for as long as it is needed to provide the ShredIndex and ShredIndex Lines services, and we delete or de-identify it when it is no longer required. The retention periods below apply to both our website and our mobile apps.
Account information
Your account details (such as name, email address, and authentication identifiers) are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, or ask us to delete it, we delete this data from our systems within 30 days.
Activity and location data
Ski and snowboard tracking data (GPS tracks, runs, speed, distance, vertical, and related statistics) is stored on your device and, when you are signed in, synced to our servers so your stats work across devices. It is retained while your account is active. You can delete individual sessions at any time in the app, which removes them from your device and our servers. All activity and location data associated with your account is deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app or clear its data.
Purchase and transaction records
Purchases are processed by Apple, Google, and our subscription provider; we do not store your payment card details. We retain records of transactions for as long as required to comply with tax, accounting, and other legal obligations (typically up to 7 years), after which they are deleted.
Analytics and diagnostics
Usage analytics and crash/diagnostic data are retained for up to 26 months, after which they are deleted or aggregated so they no longer identify you.
Backups and residual copies
Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently purged. We may retain data for longer where required to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Requesting deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing tom@hansendev.com.au. We will action verified requests within 30 days.
